Spring 2010 - This year the military is kicking off their "Military Saves; Start Small, Think Big!" campaign. The goal is simple. Every little bit helps, in the long run. Start with a $10 allotment out of your paycheck or drill check, into your credit union savings account. I did and I don't miss it a bit. In a year I've saved $520, at $10 every other week.

Fall 2009 - Remember, check your credit history once a year, pay bills on time and keep the total of monthly debt payments below 35% of gross monthly income.

Winter 2010 - Did you know your children can join the Credit Union AND get a loan? It's true. Many members have one question? Can my son or daughter get a car loan at the Credit Union? YES! All it takes is a $5 deposit to open a savings account. We then begin the loan process: loan application, auto information and review of loan terms.

Fall 2009 - Remember, check your credit history once a year, pay bills on time and keep the total of monthly debt payments below 35% of gross monthly income.

Summer 2009 - Unlike banks, Credit Unions are a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned by its members. All Credit Union earnings, after expenses, are returned to its members by way of low-interest loans, higher savings returns, and low-fee or fee services. Basically, when you become a member of our Credit Union, you own a piece of KSAGCU.

Spring 2009 - The Saver Pledge: I will help myself by saving money, reducing debt, & building wealth over time. I will help my family & my country by encouraging other Americans to Build Wealth, Not Debt.

Winter 2008 - Buy or improve? What’s the best for you? Let your Credit Union mortgage professionals help.
We’ll explain the cost of using your home’s equity for improvements, and review loan program
options, whether you improve or purchase new.

Fall 2008 - As member-owned not-for-profit financial cooperatives, credit unions stuck to their core values "where people are worth more than money". Therefore credit unions did not participate in the type of lending that contributed to today's economic turmoil.

Summer 2008 - "Many bank customers are becoming increasingly frustrated with the litany of fees their banks are charging, as well as the difficulties often associated with obtaining a loan," Cussen wrote. "Credit unions represent an alternative to banks and possible solutions to common complaints about traditional banking institutions."

Spring 2008 - Six year car loans make monthly payments lower. We all want that. Did you know that the interest rate, on a six year loan, is usually 1% higher? That costs money! How do you get a lower payment AND a lower interest rate?? The solution is at Kansas Air Guard Credit Union.

Winter 2007 - There are three credit bureaus in this country: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. Each bureau has its own methodology for generating a credit score, typically ranging from 300 to 850. In most cases, a credit score above 700 is very good.
